COACH NEW YORK Keith Haring Varsity Jacket

In 1986 iconic New York artist Keith Haring was commissioned to produce a mural commemorating the 100-year anniversary of America receiving the Statue of Liberty from France. He worked with the CityKids foundation and invited over 1,000 young people from across the city to draw their interpretations of what liberty meant to them onto the banner. The result was the painting that’s on the back of this satin varsity jacket: Lady Liberty, standing proud in front of the signature Haring faceless figures, jumping for joy.

From the 2018 Coach capsule celebrating Haring’s work and distinct visual language.
