NYC SUBWAY LINE Vintage Queens T-Shirt
$50.00
Lynne Lambert, a freelance actor with no previous connection to the MTA, came up with the idea of subway-themed tees some time in 1995, while she was waiting for the 5 train in Brooklyn. She had to pursue the MTA and the New York Transit Museum to get a license, she knocked on doors for months, and then she made it happen—the now famous NYC Subway Line.
This vintage t-shirt does not pay tribute to a particular line, like the ones sold today, but to the borough of Queens and all the trains that passed by its neighborhoods when it was released. We discovered it on a rack in the Lower East Side, during one of our treasure hunts.
