Carrie Bradshaw gets all the glory, but it’s the Sex & the City OG stylist & costume designer that deserves most of the credit— for the fashion it featured and for how the fashion amplified the voices of the four protagonists of the series. SATC made Patricia Field globally known as one of the most influential figures in fashion history but New Yorkers knew her well all along, because of her “New York weird” namesake boutique on Bowery.

This clutch, featuring a New York graffiti-inspired print, was designed by Field for her HSN line, back in 2008.
